So, the point of this blog is to get used to being in the public eye. I know that blogging may not be the best way to get noticed and I also have heard that if I want to publish a novel that I've beforehand posted online, it may not be possible.
Publishers sometimes consider blog-published work to be self-published.
I have a feeling that if I ever publish this novel that I post here, it will likely turn out so different after editing it'll hardly be considered the same book. So, I'm trying this.
I would someday like to publish a book, but as of yet, I'm just working on my writing. I like to write. I like to read. So, I guess there are two good things about me.
Wow. 1,667 words is a lot.
That's the minimum number of words I need to write PER DAY in November to get to my word count goal of 50,000 by the end of the month. I think on paper it's about two and a half pages.
The first year I wrote a novel was 2011 and I finished that one before Thanksgiving. I've heard that Thanksgiving is late in the month, this year. I should look that up and see exactly what day that is, because I might have to make it a goal of mine. To finish before Thanksgiving, I mean.
So, I work at a coffee shop. My first novel was about a self-employed artist who made a living by selling her paintings at huge crafting events. She had a friend who worked at a coffee shop, just like me! I named the coffee shop in the novel: Espresso Change-O. I think it's funny.
I think that the main character in my first novel must have had some crazy great marketing skills and maybe a trust from her parents. Maybe. She lives with her two brothers and one of her brother's friends and none of them pay rent because the house was left to them when their parent's died.
My second novel, the main character owed her own web design business, and she spent a lot of her time riding a bus she hated. In my second novel, most of the characters are named after food. I have Cherry, Mirabelle (a small pear, I believe), and Graham. Matthias is the second main character. He's not food. None of the supporting characters are food items, either.
I'm thinking about continuing the food names into my third novel, because I think it's quirky... and I like food. Why not?
Alright, so this here block of text right here is a total of exactly 500 words.
Yes, I purposely made that sentence weird so that it'd make 500. :) Once I hit 555 words, I'll just repeat all of this three times in the blog post and that'll give me an idea. I won't know until I write it. I hope no one reads this. You don't have to! I'ts scary, child!
-----------------
This post is just so I can determine how my posts are going to look. I kind of need to know how 1,667 words are going to fit on a page, so I'm just going to talk for a little while. I don't know what about. We'll call this a free-write.
